SoftWave Therapy in Burnsville
Some injuries stall. The pain lingers for months, the tissue never quite heals, and rest and stretching only go so far. SoftWave therapy at Eagle Trace Spine & Sport is a non-invasive way to jump-start healing in exactly those cases — using acoustic waves to wake up the body's own repair response in tissue that's been stuck. No drugs, no needles, no downtime.
We assess your injury and history to confirm SoftWave is a good fit — it shines on chronic tendon, fascia, and joint pain that hasn't responded to rest alone.
Step 2
Targeted acoustic-wave sessions
A handheld applicator delivers the waves directly to the injured tissue. Sessions are quick, comfortable, and require zero downtime afterward.
Step 3
Combine with care and rehab
We pair SoftWave with adjustments and targeted exercises so the regenerating tissue rebuilds under healthy mechanics — and the result holds.

The basics
About softwave therapy
SoftWave is a form of regenerative acoustic-wave therapy. A handheld applicator sends unfocused, low-intensity shockwaves into the injured area. Those waves do two things: they dramatically increase blood flow to tissue that's often poorly circulated (tendons and fascia heal slowly precisely because they get so little blood), and they signal the body to recruit its own repair cells to the site.
The result is a healing response in tissue that had effectively given up trying to repair itself. For chronic tendon problems, plantar fasciitis, and stubborn joint pain, that restarted repair process is often what finally moves the needle. SoftWave is non-invasive and requires no recovery time, so it pairs naturally with chiropractic care and rehab — addressing the tissue while we address the mechanics.
What is SoftWave therapy?
SoftWave is a non-invasive, regenerative acoustic-wave therapy. A handheld applicator delivers unfocused, low-intensity shockwaves into injured tissue, where they boost circulation and activate the body’s own repair cells. It’s a way to restart the healing process in tissue that’s been stuck — without drugs, injections, or surgery.
At Eagle Trace Spine & Sport in Burnsville, Dr. Jeff Plaster uses SoftWave for the injuries that tend to stall out: chronic tendon problems, plantar fasciitis, and joint pain that rest and stretching alone haven’t fixed.
What to expect
After confirming SoftWave is a good fit for your injury, your clinician applies the handheld device directly to the affected area. You’ll feel a tapping or pulsing sensation as the waves work into the tissue. Sessions are short and comfortable, and there’s no downtime — you can return to your normal day right away.
Because SoftWave works with your body’s biology, results build over a series of sessions rather than appearing all at once. We pair it with chiropractic care and rehab so the regenerating tissue rebuilds under healthy mechanics.

What does SoftWave therapy feel like?+
Most patients describe a tapping or pulsing sensation over the treated area. It's generally well tolerated — some tenderness during treatment is normal, especially over an inflamed area, and there's no downtime afterward.
How many sessions will I need?+
It varies by condition, but many patients do a series of sessions over a few weeks. Chronic tendon and fascia injuries typically respond best to a consistent course. Dr. Plaster will recommend a plan after evaluating your injury.
What conditions respond best to SoftWave?+
Chronic soft-tissue and joint problems respond best — plantar fasciitis, rotator-cuff issues, tennis and golfer's elbow, knee pain, and lingering strains that haven't healed with rest. It's especially useful when poor circulation has stalled recovery.
Is SoftWave therapy safe?+
Yes — it's non-invasive and well tolerated. We screen during your exam for the few contraindications (for example, treating directly over certain conditions), and your clinician will confirm it's appropriate before starting.
“I started coming to Eagle Trace after a car accident because I was having a lot of back and neck pain. Dr. Jeff has been great to work with and has helped me feel much better over time. They offer many treatments, including spinal decompression, rehabilitation exercises, back roller machines, chiropractic adjustments, and massage therapy. The entire team is friendly, caring, and always takes the time to make sure you are comfortable. What I appreciate most is that I never feel rushed during my appointments. They truly listen and focus on helping you recover. I have always felt well taken care of here. I highly recommend Eagle Trace to anyone looking for quality care for back, neck, or injury-related pain.”

“I had a deep tissue massage with Carol and it was exceptional. I had tightness, stiffness in specific areas and could not stand upright. After her 1hr session I could quickly, comfortably stand upright. I felt better but sore, need a day of recovery being an older gentleman. She very is professional. All of this through a Groupon I purchased. No downsizing in services because of the Groupon like another place ahem-Massage MN. 1 session and she got to the root cause. I definitely will book her services again and the location is not bad. 5 Stars for Carol. UPDATE: 6/3/26 I went in to see Dr. Jeff for Chiropractic Adjustments under my Groupon and I can confidently say Dr Jeff is an exceptional Doctor. He is one of the rare Physicians that has a deep passion for his profession. He utilizes new chiropractic techniques/technologies and is educated on the one that are bad for you. I came in with lower back, calf leg, tight glutes pain and his 1st adjustment made a difference that I can now as I typing this can feel. I am looking forward to his treatments in the future. From my recent past experience with a Groupon Chiropractor-HealthSource Edina I was treated substandard by comparison to Eagle Trace. Many businesses that decide to use Groupon as a way to get clients/customers in truth do not want to do so and it shows by the way they provide substandard service as I received through HealthSource. Eagle Trace Spine and Sport treats his clients/customers with respect, appreciation, enthusiasm, attention to detail and above all the massage and chiropractic services are EXCEPTIONAL. If you are seeking highly educated Chiropractic Services and immediately effective Massage Therapy Services I recommend Eagle Trace Spine and Sport-Burnsville, MN.”
